Nationals:
Nationals is one of our most important events. Every year we work very hard to compete in all the different competitions that take place in New Orleans, where Nationals is held every year. University of Wisconsin-Whitewater American Marketing Association is one of the most decorated chapters in the nation for the National competition, and we work very hard every year to keep it that way. Besides all the work, there are many fun activities at Nationals that we take place in. So sign up, and make life long memories of fun and dedication with Whitewater AMA! Below are some of the competitions that we compete in at Nationals. Read them over and see what you would like to participate in.

The AMA Collegiate Conference in New Orleans is the place to be:
Networking: Meet over 1,000 marketing students, faculty, and practitioners.

Job Opportunities: Talk one-on-one with the AMA’s collegiate career partners and find out what today’s companies are looking for.

Learning: Attend speaker events and hear how experienced marketers made it to the top, how to build a team, how to be a good leader and more.

Chapter Recognition: Show your chapter’s success and creativity in the Exhibit Hall and receive recognition for your chapter’s excellent work at the Awards Banquet.

Compete: Participate in some of the professional competitions including the SABRE competition; which althoughs you the opportunity to work with a team on a simulated marketing situation, the sales competition; which let's you try selling products to judges to evaluate your potential in sales, the Case Competition; which is where members of AMA work on a large marketing case and compete nationally, and more.

Celebrate: Participate in social activities with your fellow AMA members to celebrate all the hard work you have done for the year. Remember we are on Bourbon Street!!

Case Competition:
The Case Competition is a competition that is handed out at the beginning of each school year for students to apply real market research skills.  Every year a company sponsors the Case Competition and presents a task that they would like to accomplish in the case rules and outline.  Each of the participating chapters do research, write a report, and submit the report for judging.  The top eight cases that are submitted present at Nationals in front of the Collegiate AMA board and the sponsoring company.  A winner for the Case Competition is then selected from these eight finalists.

Exhibit:
Every chapter that goes to Nationals is given an opportunity to enter the exhibit building festivities.  Each chapter designs a booth to highlight the activities and events that they have done during the past year.  The booths have to be interactive and usually carry the conference theme along with some school pride.  Judging of the exhibits take place by the students and the Collegiate AMA board in several categories and awards are handed out accordingly.

Chapter Plan and Annual Report:
The biggest award, and the one that UW- Whitewater AMA has won more times than any other chapter in the Nation, is the Chapter of the Year Award.  The Chapter of the Year Award is determined by the careful judging of the Chapter Plan and Annual Report submitted by each AMA chapter.  The Chapter Plan and Annual Report consist of all the details of every AMA function, activity, and gathering.  Everything from the number of people at the weekly meetings to how much money we raised for charity is highlighted between these two reports.  The chapter that has done the best job at their activities and the best job of writing them in the two reports wins Chapter of the Year..
